About Clean Up Iowa Water
Clean Up Iowa Water is a project of the Environmental Law & Policy Center (ELPC). ELPC is a nonprofit group that works to protect the environment across the Midwest. They use science, law, and smart policies to help communities and nature thrive together.
Iowa is a special place. Its rivers, streams, lakes, and groundwater support our towns, farms, and families. Clean water keeps people healthy, helps farmers succeed, and protects fish and wildlife. It is part of what makes Iowa home.
But too many of Iowa’s waters are polluted. Dirty water puts drinking water at risk and hurts outdoor recreation, wildlife, and local communities. This does not have to be the way things are.
Iowa deserves clean water. Clean Up Iowa Water works to protect Iowan’s basic right to clean water by pushing for better solutions, holding polluters accountable, and standing up for the people who depend on safe water every day. Together, we can protect Iowa’s water now and for future generations.
